I bought my Model C back in the late 90's, and like most exercise machines bought for the home, for a few years it gathered lots of dust! I did a lot of cycling, but that came almost to a halt when I adopted two young kids as a single parent. I needed something that kept me at home, so I started rowing more and doing more of the challenges. Until this year, I used the erg primarily in the fall through early spring. Now, my 60th birthday is looming (next February), AND I've signed up for a "learn to row" 8-session class through the Greater Dayton Rowing Association in Ohio later this month. It will be my first on water experience. These are my incentives to keep getting on the erg at 5:30 am. I'm coming up on three million lifetime meters and my goal is a million meter season.
