Keep Logging your Holiday Challenge Meters
So, here we are at the midway point of the 16th annual Holiday Challenge! There is still time to log your meters and help make an impact on the world! How? There's a charitable giving aspect to the Holiday Challenge and here's how it works:
For every person who rows or skis 100k during the challenge, Concept2 will donate $.02 per kilometer (1000 meters) to your choice of the this year's selected charities. Once you get beyond 100k, we'll donate $.04 per additional kilometer. For kids and adaptive participants, the $.04 rate will take effect at 50k.
The Holiday Challenge started on November 24 (American Thanksgiving) and will end at midnight on Christmas Eve, December 24. You can participate anywhere there’s a Concept2 Indoor Rower or SkiErg and then just enter all your meters, rowed or skied, into your free Concept2 Online Logbook. And remember, you can combine your challenge meters if you want to use both the indoor rower and the SkiErg!
Since 2008, Concept2 has worked with worldwide and local charities to help support issues that are important to all of us. To date, Concept2 has donated $193,000—with your help—during the Holiday Challenge to various non-for-profits around the world and right here at home. This year, our goal is to raise $30,000 and surpass the $220k mark. Our challenge beneficiaries are four not-for-profit organizations covering a range of focus areas. You can choose to support the charity that speaks to you, or let Concept2 decide. Just indicate your choice in your online logbook and keep logging those meters!
This year’s charity choices:
- Food and Farming: One Acre Fund We serve smallholder farmers. We envision a future in which every farm family has the knowledge and means to achieve big harvests, support healthy families, and cultivate rich soil.
- Women's Human Rights: Global Fund for Women We are a global champion for the human rights of women and girls.
- Conservation: Ocean Conservancy Our vision is a healthy ocean that sustains life on our planet. We envision a world where we all work together to keep the ocean and our coastal communities healthy and prosperous.
